Boston Red Sox vs. Cleveland Guardians Prediction

The Cleveland Guardians battle the Boston Red Sox taking place from bean town on Monday night at Fenway Park. The Red Sox are ice cold at the moment after being embarrassed this weekend when they took on divisional rival the Tampa Bay Blue Jays. The Sox lost on Friday night by a final score of 28-5. This was one of the worst losses for Boston in the last decade.

What followed the next two days was not much better as they lost the game by three runs and lost yesterday 8-4. They now find themselves three games out of the final Wild Card spot. This has been an up and down season for Boston as they have now lost six straight ball games. It will be interesting to see how they handle the trade deadline and whether they are buyers or sellers.

Cleveland surprised many in the early part of the season as they sat atop the AL Central for some time. They have come back to life as of late and now sit a few games back in the AL Wild Card. Cleveland will likely stay still at the deadline and see what they can do in the second half of the season.

The Guardians are coming off back-to-back losses in Chicago to the White Sox and will look to bounce back tonight. Cleveland sends Zach Plesac to the bump. He will be opposed by Nick Pivetta, who toes the rubber for Boston. 

I am backing the Red Sox on the moneyline tonight. I know a lot of people are wondering how you back a team who has looked as bad as Boston has as of late. My response is that is how gambling works. The line here is off in my mind, and I believe -110 is a steal. Pivetta is the better arm here, and despite their recent struggles, I believe Boston is the much better lineup.

This should be a solid bounce-back spot for Boston today at home. The Red Sox still are capable of going on a run, and this is how their season has gone. They have gone on some big win streaks and some tough losing streaks. This is the perfect get-me-right spot tonight. Let’s cash in!
