We have been on a nice roll here lately, and I could not ask for anything different. Sometimes, the dog days of summer can be a grind on the diamond, but we’ve been able to keep cashing in, and I’m happy. I see quite a few spots on today’s MLB board I like, and I want to start with some pretty straightforward plays here.

Houston and Los Angeles are both in truly excellent form right now and are my favorites out of each league at the moment, without question. Tonight both squads are riding momentum into a fresh series with inferior squads, and unless the universe decides it’s a crazy underdog night, I see both of these teams winning easily today.
Houston is everything I had hoped they would be from a betting perspective. I have been beyond vocal in my support of quite a few teams this season, and the Astros have been one of them. The lineup continues to dominate as it has over the last few seasons, and that top six remains truly lethal. They can generate talent and continue to just throw guys out there who can swing it.
Jake Odorizzi is on the bump for them tonight, and although not having a spectacular season, he is a proven, capable starting pitcher. They are riding a five-game win streak into this one, holding a record now of 64-32, and facing the team they last lost to. Oakland is a miserable 35-63, and their man on the bump tonight is similar. Adam Oller is sporting a .437 wOBA and .316 batting average against Houston to go along with his 8.56 ERA and 0-3 record this season.

I’ll keep this write-up shorter as the argument is nearly identical. The Dodgers are the best team in the National League and send their main man Tony Gonsolin to the bump. Tony G is 11-1 with a 2.02 ERA and .84 WHIP on the season. He has been simply lights out, and for a team that just struggles so hard to score and win games I find it hard to believe the Nationals do so tonight.
Los Angeles is 17-2 this month, outscoring their victims by boatloads. I am confident that the Dodgers keep the foot on the gas here tonight.
