Cincinnati Reds vs Miami Marlins Prediction
The Reds took game one in blowout fashion behind a big night from reigning rookie of the year Jonathan India. The Reds will look to carry the momentum over from last night and jump out to a 2-0 series lead. The Marlins will look to even things up tonight, and they will have a good chance to do it, sending Pablo Lopez to the mound.
Lopez started the season great but has struggled as of late. The Marlins are still confident that Lopez has some of the best stuff in baseball. Miamis playoff hopes are still very much alive as they sit five games out of the NL Wildcard spot. This is a team who shocked the league during the shortened covid year when they made the playoffs, and they will look to shock the league again this season.
When healthy, Miami has a top rotation in baseball, but their bats have let them down at times this season. Miami went on a streak of not scoring a run for nearly forty straight innings last week. Their offense was held down last night, scoring just two runs, both of which were unearned runs.
The Marlins look to get going tonight against hard-throwing rookie Hunter Greene. Greene has some of the best stuff in baseball for a young arm, and he has thrown the most pitches in baseball of 100 mph or more this season.
I am looking at a prop tonight for this game, and it will be centered around Marlins starter Pablo Lopez. I am backing Lopez to get over 17.5 outs. I am shocked we can get this line even tho there is some juice. This is a steal in my eyes. Lopez has really struggled as of late, but this should be the perfect get me right spot today.
The Reds have been playing much better baseball over the last two months, but this is still one of the worst offenses in baseball. Lopez should be locked in tonight and be able to dominate this Reds lineup from top to bottom. If he has his command, this will fly over with ease, and I expect his command to be sharp tonight. Miami also used a lot of their bullpen yesterday, so they will need Lopez to eat up innings tonight.
Cincinnati Reds vs Miami Marlins Pick
Pick: Pablo Lopez Over 17.5 Outs -150 (Bet $150 to win $100)
