Cincinnati Reds vs Miami Marlins Prediction: Can Braxton Garrett Mow Down Joey Votto and the Reds?
I've got good news and bad news. I looked over the lines today and if we're being honest, our ladders aren't reaching the moon. Not even close. It's just not a ladder day. I know that sounds bad (it actually is) but that's just how the MLB gods work. They've been doing this kind of stuff for years. But, even though we don't have a Strikeout Watch List, we still have something. Not just a little something either. We're talking a pretty big something. I like to call it the best play I've ever seen in my entire life. I've seen a lot of plays too so I know exactly what I'm talking about. What's even better is this thing goes off at 6:40 pm ET so we get to have something to look forward to all day. We're not blowing our load early today. This actually could turn out to be the greatest day in gambling history.

Cincinnati Reds vs Miami Marlins Pick
Braxton Garrett Over 4.5 Strikeouts (-110) (Bet $110 to win $100)
*Odds available at FanDuel at time of publishing*
We're at FanDuel for this one but if you want to go over to DraftKings that's cool too. They're hanging 4.5 (-115) right now which isn't much different. No matter what, both of those are better than BetMGM because they don't even have a number up right now. I'm sure they'll join in at some point but their tardiness is noticeable.

Somehow I missed the last time this guy pitched. I'm not sure if the line was posted late or what but when it happened I was pissed. He went up against the Pittsburgh Pirates that night and fanned seven guys. What's crazy about this guy is the fact that he's sat down 87 guys in 89.1 innings of work in his career yet he's still a 4.5 guy. You don't see that all the time. For that reason, we can't go missing starts.
I know that striking out seven Pittsburgh Pirates isn't exactly a big deal but in the start before that Garrett whiffed 11 of them. If you go double digits against anybody, I'm interested. It's as simple as that. Especially if you're a 4.5 guy. The thing is, he's a 4.5 guy for a reason but it's not his fault. His six starts before his Pirate outings were against the Mets, Nationals, Rockies, Cardinals, and Astros. None of those teams strike out much. He still hit five strikeouts in three of those games which is crazy.
Tonight, our guy Garrett isn't quite getting the Pittsburgh Pirates but he is getting something close in the Cincinnati Reds. On the season only nine teams have struck out more than they have and in the last two weeks, they are above 25% in terms of strikeouts. We're talking 91 whiffs in their last 335 at-bats. There are at least six guys that could be in the lineup tonight that have fanned in at least 31% of their at-bats over that span. While they aren't quite as bad as the Pirates, I still think our guy gets to five and if we're being honest, we could ladder.
