This game started with fireworks when Aaron Judge and Anthony Rizzo went back to back in the first inning. That was countered with a four-run bottom of the first from the Mets, led by a two-run home run by Eduardo Escobar. The Mets continue to have the Yankee's number as of late and will look to continue that tonight.

The crowd was electric as it was a sold-out stadium at Citi Filed last night for the third time this season. These are two of the best teams in baseball, and this could be a preview of a potential World Series matchup. Both of these teams will be active next week at the trade deadline finalizing their rosters for a playoff run.

The Mets will send Max Scherzer to the bump tonight, who has been great this year. The one-two combination of Scherzer and deGrom is the best in baseball when they are both healthy. deGrom should be back in the rotation soon so until then, Scherzer is the ace. Max will be opposed by Domingo German, who is coming off a brutal start against the Astros. He gave up five runs in three innings in what was his first start of the season. 

I am backing the Yankees team total tonight, which is sitting at just 2.5. I understand Max Scherzer is pitching, but I also understand this is the New York Yankees. This is a team who scores most of their runs from the long ball, and if they can get a couple of guys on early, we can cash this bet on one swing of the bat.

Scherzer has given up two runs in his last two starts. If the Yankees can get two off of Max and then face the bullpen for three or four innings, I believe this will soar over. This is the number one team in baseball when it comes to scoring runs averaging 5.34 runs per game. This is a disrespectful line tonight that we will take advantage of.
