Giants vs. Cubs Line Movement

San Francisco Giants vs. Chicago Cubs Prediction

The Cubs come into this game on a season-high winning streak of six games, while the Giants enter play with their longest losing streak since the 2018 season at seven games. The Cubs will be sellers at the deadline without a doubt, while the Giants will look to make a run late in the summer.

San Francisco is still right in the thick of things to make the playoffs this year as they sit just three games out of a wildcard spot. They shocked the league a season ago, winning north of one hundred games, and many did not believe that they could do it again. This is a roster that has a lot of good players but not a great one. Their pitching has not been as good this season as it was last, which has also hurt them in a lot of games.

The Giants will look to snap that losing streak tonight when they send southpaw Alex Wood to the mound. Wood has had a pretty average season as he comes into this game representing a record of 6-8 and an era of 4.21. The Cubs will counter with a southpaw of their own when they send Justin Steele to the bump. Steele comes into this one with a record of 4-6 and an era of 4.02.

I will be backing the Giants tonight on the money line. The Cubs come into this one winning six in a row and the Giants losing seven in a row, yet the Giants are the favorite. I believe this is a line indicator that the Giants are the play. This should be the perfect spot to back the Giants as they are more than due.

The Giants are a much better home this year with a record of 26-22. They also tend to hit much better against left-handed pitchers ranking in the top three in baseball in RBIs vs. LHP. They should be able to get to Steele tonight early on. The Cubs offense is due for regression, and we will get that tonight. Let’s keep rolling!
