Toronto Blue Jays vs Detroit Tigers Pick

1u - Tigers o1.5 Team Total First 5 Innings (-135) (Bet $135 to win $100)

*Odds available at DraftKings at time of publishing*

Backing my hometown Tigers team is something I don’t do often but when I do it normally pays dividends. They face off against Yusei Kikuchi today who has allowed 2+ runs in eight of his last nine games and in 13/16 on the season. We’re focused on just the first five innings though which is the number of innings Yusei is projected to go tonight.

Toronto Blue Jays vs Detroit Tigers Prediction

It’s no secret that Detroit hits lefties better than righties. Detroit is hitting .275 against lefties on the season and has been especially red hot lately against southpaws. Detroit has six batters hitting over .300 against left-handed pitching over the last month. In the Padres series, they were all over Taylor Rogers who has had an otherwise great year. The last lefty starter they faced was Sean Manaea who they scored 11 runs on in the first five innings. We need two, we don’t need to reinvent the wheel tonight.

My initial lean was waiting for Kikuchi hits allowed and it came out at 4.5 at plus odds, although I don’t completely hate that we have seen him have his games where he can’t locate and he gets walk happy. This has been the obvious play all day and I can’t sit on the sideline and watch it cash without me. I like to offer pivots so I will say I like this too, o4.5 first five for both teams. I think Tyler Alexander is alright but shouldn’t be unscathed and Toronto has been pretty hot lately. I could definitely see a 3-2 game after five frames.
