Toronto Blue Jays vs. Detroit Tigers Prediction: Can Matt Chapman and the Blue Jays Stay Hot?
The Tigers hit the road to start a four-game series across the border in the Rogers Centre in Toronto. The Tigers are coming off an impressive series win against the Padres on their home turf, and their bats have looked good recently. The Blue Jays are 4-1 over their last five games and have also been hitting well besides a one-run outing in yesterday's loss to the Cardinals. The play I am eyeing in this game is a total. Here is my prediction, pick, and odds for the Toronto Blue Jays vs Detroit Tigers game.

Toronto Blue Jays vs Detroit Tigers Prediction
Neither starting pitcher is anything to write home about in this meeting tonight. Tyler Alexander is a bullpen pitcher with a 4.05 ERA, and his last outing against the Blue Jays was a 2.2-inning outing with two earned runs allowed.
On the other side is an even less impressive Yusei Kikuchi. Kikuchi is 3-5 with a 5.12 ERA this season, and he has been hit hard in many of his starts this season. He is coming off a 2.1-inning outing with four earned runs against the lowly Athletics. I also think he will be hit hard in today's start, given the Tigers' success against lefties lately.
The Tigers have recently been hitting lefties at an insanely high clip, batting .405 against southpaws in the last five games. They have also been averaging 10.9 runs per nine innings against lefties over their last ten games. Maybe if they were facing a decent lefty like Carlos Rodon or something, I wouldn't bet this over, but it's Yusei Kikuchi, so I expect the Tigers to get at least 2-3 runs over the first five innings, if not more.
The Blue Jays have also been hitting lefties well recently, as they have a .333 average against southpaws over their last five games. The Blue Jay's offense is also suitable for runs at any point. They have moved into first place with a .267 team batting average and have been hitting .357 overall over their last five games.
With two uninspiring pitchers taking the bump and two clicking offenses, it's not hard to see runs coming quickly tonight. This game could easily be 3-3 after five innings, and we can get a reasonable price on the first five innings over. The Tigers bullpen has been excellent lately, so I don't like the whole game over as much, but we should see more than five runs in the first half of this game.
