Tonight we have Martin Perez who is easily one of the ten best pitchers in the AL this year. He is 8-2 with a 2.59 era and those two losses were his first two starts of the year. He has not lost since April 17 and clearly has been the Rangers' best pitcher all season long.
The Rangers as a team are hitting .240 well below the average and they strike out almost nine times a game which is good for 21st in the league. This team hasn't been scoring runs this week either averaging under three runs in the last four games. With the combo of bad offense, their best pitcher going, and a chance that Seager might rest tonight against a lefty (leg injury as well ), we do not see the Rangers offense getting more than three runs tonight.
The Angels couldn't score for Ohtani and against an awful pitcher, so how will they score off the Rangers ace who has clearly been their best pitcher, and for Sandoval who got three runs of support in his last two starts? The Angels without Ohtani might be the worst team in baseball (pitching and batting).
We can't forget that Trout is out, Rendon has been out as well as Duffy leaving this offense without some of its best hitters. This offense doesn't scare anyone and if they couldn't score off Howard last night who had almost an eight-era how can they score off the Texas ace and his 2.59 era? The Angels' offense is 26th in batting average at .230 and 25th in runs scored averaging under four runs a game. What's worse they are 30th in the league averaging almost ten strikeouts a game.

In a weird anomaly, the last four Angels games have been shut out or are shut out as they won two shutouts and lost being shut out twice averaging 2.5 runs a game. The Angels have three guys in the lineup hitting under .200 and their best hitter is Turner Ward at .283.
We don't see many runs today from the Angels against Perez and if the shut out or be shut out streak continues that only helps our cause tonight. The Angels do have Sandoval going tonight who is 3-6 but has a pretty good 3.43 era and in his last ten starts, six of them he has given up two or fewer runs. Sandoval hasn't won since May 22nd so he is definitely due for one as well and I am sure he knows that.
The Angels have gone under their last four games, with a chance of Seager being out this lineup is not scary at all. Both teams are not hitting the ball well right now.
