Colorado Rockies vs Los Angeles Dodgers Prediction
When you hear the best offense in baseball is in Coors you really are thinking this will be an over but games do go under in Colorado as they did last night with a 5-4 final score. If you actually look, the Dodgers are 58% in the under this year and the Rockies are an even 50% on over unders.
The Rockies have actually gone under in five of their last seven games at home and tonight they are facing Clayton Kershaw, the All-Star game starter, who is off one of his worst starts of the year and wants to make up for his last start in Coors in this same pitching matchup which just went under the number we have today and pushed that game (4-7). Something to look at always is a stud pitcher to give a better performance against the same team that got him and off of a bad start we expect the All-Star Kershaw tonight.
The Dodgers can score sometimes at will as they did in the first game of the series scoring eleven runs before the fifth inning, and six runs in the first the game before (versus the Nats) but the Dodgers have had games where the offense is non-existent, as well as the bottom of the lineup, has not produced this year. In the last ten matchups this year the under is 5-3-2 so if you automatically played the over you would be down money.
The Rockies pitcher Kyle Freeland has faced them twice and given up three and four runs and that's what should be expected again today and with Kershaw going we expect the Rockies bats to continue doing what they have been which is not scoring (13 runs in five games) and don't forget half of their scoring last night was in the ninth inning.
We have discussed Kershaw and we expect a great performance from him and the Dodgers. Their bullpen should do their job without Kimbrel tonight after last night's awful performance. Freeland is actually coming off a seven-inning shutout and you know what you are getting with him as in his last three years he gives up a little over four runs a game.
The Rockies bats are cold, the Dodgers have their ace going who let's not forget pitched a no-hitter against this team with fifteen strikeouts and no walks and is 24-10 in his career against this team with a respectable 3.47 ERA. The Dodgers are on a six-game winning streak and have the best record in the NL and are currently in the league slightly ahead of the Yankees. We are sure they want to end with that home field in the playoffs.
Your first instinct is to go over but hopefully, we have convinced you to take a chance on the under in Coors tonight. With a current total of 11.5 -120 available at FanDuel and DraftKings, we will take the under and hope Kersh does his job and Freeland does his giving up less than five runs. The Dodgers have gone under their last five times in this spot and we will ride the streaks today. Under in Coors try it tonight. GL
