Padres vs. Twins Line Movement

San Diego Padres vs. Minnesota Twins Prediction

The Minnesota Twins will clash with the San Diego Padres on Sunday afternoon from Petco Park. The Twins are fresh off a blowout win on Saturday as their offense put up seven runs. Their pitching was great until the ninth inning when San Diego put up three runs in the ninth. It was not enough, however, as the Twins pulled off a 7-4 victory.

Game one was the complete opposite result as it was a blowout in favor of the Padres. They won by a final score of 10-1 behind a great effort by Blake Snell. The rubber match will go down today as we will see Dylan Bundy toe the rubber for the Twins being opposed by southpaw Sean Manaea.

Bundy enters this game with an ERA of 5.02 and a record of 6-4. Manaea comes in with a 5-5 record and an ERA of 4.33. He is coming off a start in which he allowed nine runs in just 3.1 innings of work against the Tigers. He will be looking to bounce back today, facing one of the best lineups in baseball.

The Twins have surprised many in the league this season as they will enter August in first place in the AL Central. Everyone knew this team could hit coming into the season; it would be up to their pitching. Their team ERA of 4.06 ranks twentieth in baseball, and if they want to go on a run in the playoffs, they will need that to improve. San Diego currently holds the second Wild Card spot in the National League, but their lead is just 1.5 games over the Phillies.

I am backing the Padres on the moneyline today. I am all in on a bounce-back start from Sean Manaea. This is a young guy who has brilliant stuff when he is on. After getting rocked in his last outing, I expect him to be extremely focused coming into this game. I also love to fade Dylan Bundy, who has made us a lot of money over the last few years. He simply is not an arm to fear, and this Padres lineup should have their way in this game today. This is a Padres team that needs to heat up to hold onto their playoff spot, and I trust them to get it done today!
