San Francisco Giants vs. Chicago Cubs Prediction

The Chicago Cubs face the San Fransico Giants taking place from the Bay Area on Sunday Night Baseball on ESPN. This has been an entertaining series so far as the Giants currently lead the series 2-1.

The Giants have been cold as of late coming into the series, but they are hopeful that a big series win here will flip their season around. They find themselves in unusual territory as they enter this game under the .500 mark. This is a team that won north of one hundred games last season. It will be interesting to see if San Francisco is a buyer or seller at the trade deadline next week. They currently sit a few games out of the final Wild Card spot.

The Cubs know that they will be sellers at the trade deadline. They just moved on from veteran pitcher Chris Martin yesterday, and they will likely send a few more players on their way before the deadline is over. This is a team that is playing for the future at the moment.

Tonight we will see southpaw Carlos Rodon get the ball for the Giants. Rodon was an All-Star this season, and his name has come up lately as a guy the Giants could move if they decide to be sellers. He will look to turn in a great performance tonight on the national stage. The Cubs will send Adrian Sampson to the bump to try and split this series. 

I will be backing the Giants tonight on the -1 line. Rodon should be locked in tonight, and I expect him to completely dominate this lineup. The Giants are an average team, so I would not be surprised if they decide to sell here at the deadline. This could be Rodons final start in a Giants uniform, and I am sure he is well aware of that.

Sampson is an average arm that I believe the Giants can get to. I am sure we will see an overload of left-handed bats tonight which should help their offense to get going. If they can score four or five runs tonight, I believe we will cruise to a win tonight. Let’s keep things rolling!
