This game will decide who comes out with the series win, and if you like good pitching, you should sit back and enjoy today's game. It will be two of the best arms in baseball on the mound as Luis Castillo makes his debut for the Mariners, being opposed by all-star Gerrit Cole.

Castillo was considered the best arm on the market, and Seattle aggressively pursued him. They landed the right-hander for prospects and showed the league that they are all in on winning this year. Castillo had success in his only start this season in Yankees stadium, limiting the best lineup in baseball to just one run. Castillo will look to match that kind of performance today.

Cole has been outstanding for the Yankees all season long and will have another chance to be great today. He enters play with a record of 9-3 and an era of 3.30. This has been an entertaining series so far as the teams have split after a big offensive night from Seattle last night. The Mariners are looking to hold onto a playoff spot in the American League Wildcard which is very tight at the moment. The Yankees will be looking to increase their lead in the AL East with a win this afternoon. 

I am backing Gerrit Cole and the Yankees today. I feel as if a lot of people will back Seattle and Castillo in his first start, but I think this is a good fade spot. Castillo has been outstanding this year, but I expect there to be some nerves here and could see him struggling early in this game. The Yankees offense was held down by him last time out, but I believe that changes tonight.

This is a tough team to blank back-to-back times. Julio Rodriguez is still out for Seattle, and I would assume we will see a couple of other starters sit today as it is an early turnaround game. Cole should have his way with this Seattle lineup that has been inconsistent this season. I will back the Yankees today. Let’s start the day with a winner!
