Nationals vs Mets Line Movement

Washington Nationals vs New York Mets Prediction

The Nationals had a busy day yesterday that ended with the departure of Juan Soto and Josh Bell. The Nats have officially lost every key piece to their world series run outside of Stephen Strasburg. The Soto trade is considered one of the most significant trades in MLB history as Soto is seen as many the best player in the league. Soto is just twenty-three years old and has already accomplished many things in the league.

The Nats are hopeful that the prospects they landed will pan out and be the future. It is certainly a dangerous move by the Nationals, but after Soto declined their $440 million dollar deal, they probably felt like their hands were tied. The Nats were able to pull off a huge upset last night, beating Jacob deGrom and the Mets. deGrom was great, allowing just one run in five innings, but the Nats got to the Mets bullpen.

The Mets have been one of the best teams in the National League as they currently hold a lead of 2.5 games over the Braves in the NL East. The Mets made a few moves of their own at the deadline adding Darin Ruf, which should be a productive bat in this lineup. Today we will see Chris Bassitt toe the rubber for the Mets. Opposing Bassitt will be veteran Anibal Sanchez.

I am taking the Mets on the first five-run line. I rarely make these bets, but I love this spot today, coming off a tough loss last night. Washington pretty much has a triple lineup except for a few guys and a pitcher in Sanchez, who is on his last leg. New York is far too talented not to get to Sanchez today and should cruise behind a strong outing by Bassitt, who has been very good this season. Sanchez enters this game with an era of 7.27 and an era of 0-3. Let’s cash this in and get rich!
