This could be the most anticipated regular season game of the year. The hype is for a good reason, as these two teams are now considered the two best in the National League. The Padres have been the little brother of the Dodgers over the last few seasons, as it seems no matter how good the team is, the Dodgers have had more playoff success, including a championship and winning the national league.
The Dodgers have controlled the series between the two this season going 5-2 so far. The Padres, however, will bring a new look team into town tonight. The Padres owned the trade deadline adding multiple all-stars to an already good team. Juan Soto, Josh Bell, and Josh Hader were all added to the roster. Soto is considered one of the best baseball players in the league and has an entire career ahead of him. Many people believe the Soto trade could be the most impactful trade in MLB history.
The Dodgers will look to remind everyone tonight that even though the Padres are the hot attraction right now that they are still the best team in baseball. This is a great rivalry and should be a heck of a series.
I am backing the dog on the run line in the Padres. The Padres got beat up yesterday, but they may have been looking ahead to tonight’s game. This is a huge series for the confidence of the Padres, and I expect them to be locked in tonight.
The pitching matchup is between Sean Manaea and Tony Gonsolin. Most people will say it is a large advantage for the Dodgers, but I actually believe Manaea is the better arm tonight. I know numbers-wise, it is Gonsolin, but I expect heavy regression from him the rest of the season.
The Padres have the better lineup at the moment, and I trust that they can put up runs tonight. These will be hard-fought games all series, so I will take the dog on the run line tonight. I hope everyone enjoys this game, and let’s cash in!
