Minnesota Twins vs Toronto Blue Jays Prediction

The Blue Jays need up winning in blowout fashion last night after both teams struggled to score runs early. These two teams look like they will be playoff teams at the moment but will need to continue to play their best baseball in the next couple of months.

The Twins have surprised many people this year with how good they have been. The top of their lineup, when healthy, is one of the best in baseball, and they were aggressive at the deadline adding some straying pitching. The man who gets the ball tonight was added to the team and will look to make an immediate impact. Tyler Mahle was acquired from the Reds and gets the call tonight. He will have a tough first assignment facing one of the best lineups in all of baseball.

Jose Berrios will get the rock for the Blue Jays, and his season has been a struggle so far. Berrios is a former Twin, where he had some great seasons. The Jays dealt one of their best prospects last year in Austin Martin to land Berrios. He has great stuff but has struggled to find it this season. 

I am backing the Twins on the money line today. Berrios has not proved to me that he can shut down great lineups this year. I consider the Twins an above-average lineup, and they should be able to get to Berrios today.

The Jays bullpen has been very hittable this season, so if they can knock him out somewhat early, I like their chances here. Mahle will look to impress in his first start as a Twin, and I like his stuff. He is an undervalued arm in my eyes, and getting him as a dog today is something I love. The Twins will bounce back tonight and get a win for us.
