The San Diego Padres are in Los Angeles again this evening for the second game of this series with the Dodgers and I am excited to lay a wager on this one again here tonight. San Diego is going to be good the rest of the season, I do believe that but I have to once again say what I said last night. The lineup now has similar star power but they are still shorthanded at the moment and though they are a super team in comparison to most, they are still facing the super team.
The Los Angeles Dodgers have been and continue to dominate the league and they are the definition of what San Diego and other teams are trying to become. Not only do they have the superstars performing but the next-man-up is too right now. I don't care who's pitching for them with the lineups they are putting out there and the effort they are putting forth. Trust me I know who is pitching, It just doesn't matter to me. The bats are relentless, the defense tends to be lights out, and obviously, the arms are playing a great part in this as well as they wouldn't be a whopping forty games above .500 already if they weren't.
I think they hit Mike Clevinger well again. In the past, they have put up a .391 batting average and .440 wOBA and the expected slash line tonight is .327/.418/.516. As long as the bats are lively and Andrew Heaney keeps the Dodgers in it I expect another great night for them. 73-33 on a six-game win streak AND have won five of the last six against San Diego AND they are at home? I am riding these guys while they stay hot.
