Mets vs Braves Line Movement

New York Mets vs Atlanta Braves Prediction

The Braves have been dominated to this point in the series and will look to come away with a win today and stop the bleeding. The Met's offense has been outstanding, and their pitching has been good enough to win them games. They took game one, and they took both games of the doubleheader yesterday. Sandwiched in between those games was a win by the Braves in game two of the series.

Life will not get easier today for the Braves as they face Jacob deGrom. deGrom has been bothered all season by injuries but made his first start of the year last week. The Mets lost the game to the Nationals despite Degrom being great. He went five innings allowing just one run while striking out six.

The Braves will send one of their best arms to the mound in Spencer Strider. Strider is likely the front runner for Rookie of the Year in the National League. Besides having an awesome mustache, he has been lights out for Atlanta going 6-3 with an era of just 2.79. His stuff has taken the league by storm, and he will look to continue that today. It will not be an easy task again this Mets offense which has been one of the best in baseball. The Mets now hold a 5.5-game lead over Atlanta.

I am all over the dog today in the Braves. Let’s just look at this line. Jacob deGrom is pitching against a rookie, and the line is only -135? There is something fishy about this lien, and I will not fall for this trap. My assumption is that deGrom will be limited to five or six innings as the Mets want to ease him back in. Strider has shown what he can do this season, and I fully expect him to have a strong outing tonight.

This is a key game for Atlanta after losing three of the first four, so they should be ready to go and play with an edge. The Braves bats will wake up and get it done for us today behind a strong outing by Strider!
