San Francisco Giants vs. San Diego Padres Prediction
The cold streak comes after the Padres made the largest splash of any team at the deadline. The Padres added one of the best players in baseball in Juan Soto, along with one of the best closers in baseball, Josh Hader. Josh Bell was also added to the team and is having one of the best years of his career.
The Padres will look to end their four-game losing streak tonight. The Giants come into this game sitting 6.5 games out of a wildcard spot. The Giants have had a rough year after their best season in franchise history. They are now two games under the .500 mark after winning two games in a row over the Oakland Athletics. This is a team that would need a lot of things to go their way if they want to make the playoffs. They have not been the same team as last year, especially when it comes to pitching.
The man getting the ball tonight for the Giants will look to flip the script on that narrative. Alex Wood will toe the rubber for the Giants as he enters this game with a record of 7-9 and an ERA of 4.42. He will be opposed by southpaw Blake Snell, who comes into this one with a record of 4-5 and an ERA of 4.16.
I will be backing the Padres on the -1 line today. They let us down this weekend, but you can not be emotional when it comes to sports gambling and hold grudges.
This is the perfect bounce-back spot for the Padres today. They come back home and they are fresh off being embarrassed by the Dodgers. They should take out their anger on the Giants tonight. The Giants are not the same team that we saw last year, and Blake Snell has been great as of late. Snell is a former Cy Young winner, and he still has that type of stuff.
Snell has allowed just two runs in his last three starts over seventeen innings. He now faces a Giants offense that simply does not scare me. I also believe their best hitters come from the left side, and Gabe Kapler will not start them tonight. You will see a heavily right-handed lineup against Snell. This should be a great spot for the Pads tonight. Let’s cash!
Giants vs. Padres Pick
