The Brewers are in the midst of their coldest stretch of the season. This is a team that shocked the league when they dealt all-star closer, Josh Hader at the ear deadline. The Brewers have had to pay a few times since the trade late in ball games, being walked off multiple times. Despite the cold run, they are still in a position to make a playoff push. They sit two games back in the NL Central and one game back in the wildcard. Their staff is considered one of the most lethal in baseball, and for a good reason. Corbin Burnes, Brandon Woodruff, and Freddy Peralta may be the best front end of a rotation in baseball.
Peralta will get the ball tonight, looking to end this losing streak for Milwaukee. Freddy has had to deal with some injuries this season but appears to be back in form. He has some of the best stuff in baseball and will look to put that on display in front of the home crowd tonight. The Rays enter play in the second wildcard spot in a tight race in the American League. They will send Jimmy Yacabonis to the bump tonight.
I am all over the Brew crew tonight. A lot of people would be scared to back a team as cold as the Brewers, but I find this the perfect time to back them. If they were not cold, this line would be -200, so I see a ton of value here. Peralta is a great arm that should take care of this Ray's lineup. This is a below-average lineup in Tampa Bay that should be easily held down tonight. The Rays will likely go with some kind of bullpen game which should allow the Brewers to take advantage of some weaker arms. I expect them to come out extremely focused tonight and dominate this game at home.
