New York Mets vs Cincinnati Reds Pick
1u - Carlos Carrasco To Record A Win (-123) (Bet $123 to win $100)
*Odds available at Caesars at time of publishing*
I’m going to keep riding with the Mets until they give me a reason not to. The team has won 13 of their last 15 games and is back to being over -300 favorites tonight. The team hits righties better than lefties and faces a lefty tonight but they are no slouches against southpaws either and have been hitting them better as of late. On the mound for Cincinnati is Mike Minor, the man is paying his respect to Rey Mysterio with a 6.19 ERA and is just as bad on the road as he gets is at home. These Mets have bats have 14 RBI’s in 66 at-bats against him, that is an RBI in less than every five at-bats on average. Minor is now 34 and is a shell of himself, I expect these red hot Mets to make him pay.
New York Mets vs Cincinnati Reds Prediction
Pitching for New York is Carlos Carrasco, the guy isn’t someone we back often but he’s been serviceable. Carlos has only allowed six runs in his last six games and has pitched 36 innings total in that time (average of six innings per outing). We need him to throw 5+ innings and leave with the lead. Carrasco has a record of 12-4 in 21 starts. A win in 12/21 games is a 57% hit rate and this is one of the most cupcake matchups he will get all year. Cincinnati on the road scores the fourth fewest runs in baseball and has only scored 18 runs over seven games in August (2.57 runs per game).
Much like our Bassitt To Record A Win bet yesterday this feels as much as a no-brainer. Carrasco has recorded a win in 12 of his last 18 outings and gets a Reds team that is 20 games below .500. I say this every time I take this market but I should add it in case there are ever new people reading. If your state doesn’t offer “pitcher to record a win” as a market then I would take the 1st 5 Inning/Moneyline bet which is also known as a double result. The upside of taking that instead is that if your team is leading after five innings then they just need to win the game to win the bet, it doesn’t matter if they blow the lead at any point. I like our bet though and head into tonight confident with it, let's roll!
