Houston Astros vs. Texas Rangers Prediction

I see this for -160 in most places and for those odds, I would play to win 0.75 units instead of 1 unit. I want exposure to this bet though and it’s good enough to be our only play of the day.

Verlander is the leader in wins in the MLB, he has 15 wins in just 20 starts. This man is 39 years old and gets a recorded win in 75% of his starts, this is unbelievable. Verlander is in line again today to dominate as he faces a lackluster Rangers squad.

Verlander has pitched two games against the Rangers and has thrown for 13 innings total only allowing one run. Both games ended with Verlander getting a recorded win and tonight should hopefully be no different. In 70 total at-bats by these Rangers, they have just 2 total RBIs against Verlander lifetime.

This just feels like another Verlander masterclass where he goes 6 or 7 innings allowing 1 run or less. The offense should help JV out and I trust the best bullpen in baseball in terms of ERA to close the door on Texas and get Verlander win #16.

On the mound for Texas is Glenn Otto, this guy has a 5.31 ERA and has allowed multiple runs both times against Houston this year. He hasn’t been the worst and he is weirdly a better road pitcher but he shouldn’t have what it takes to battle step for step with a Hall of Famer in Verlander. Otto has allowed 16 runs over his last 5 games. The Astros have 29 runs over their last 6 games. Houston is over -300 favorites for a reason, I will gladly drink the juice here as he continues to cash this bet for us, let's roll!
