Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Minnesota Twins Prediction, Picks, Odds: Can Sonny Gray, Twins Slow down the Dodgers?
The Los Angeles Dodgers are easily the best team in baseball at this point. With 76 wins on the season, the Dodgers have become red hot and continue to put together a terrific season.
They've had to deal with pitching injuries throughout the season but that still hasn't stopped the Dodgers from dominating their opponents.
Tonight, they'll fake on the Minnesota Twins for the second game of the series, after a 10-3 victory last night.

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Minnesota Twins Prediction
The Los Angeles Dodgers will give Ryan Pepiot another shot on the mound. The rookie pitcher is 1-0 with a 2.76 ERA on the season.
Pepiot was one of the top prospects coming into this year's MLB season. He's been getting most of his work done in the minors but has been called up a couple of times this season for spot starts.
On the season, Pepiot has a 5.75 xFIP with 16.9% of walks. However, he's also struck out 26.8% of batters faced. Against over 70 batters, he's still limited his wOBA to below-average numbers and continues to do well, keeping extra-base hits down.
The Twins' projected lineup is only hitting a .145 ISO and wOBA of .307 in the last 30 days against righties. Minnesota has struck out over 21% of the time against righties and has walked under 9% of the time.
Only Byron Buxton and Jake Cave are legitimate threats against Pepiot when it comes to power. You can also include Jorge Polanco in there.

Meanwhile, the Twins will send out a veteran pitcher in Sonny Gray. He was hurt for a little bit this season but still has a 6-3 record with a 3.19 ERA on the season.
Gray has a 4.71 xFIP in the last 30 days and has walked 9.5% of batters. Still, Gray is getting 23.8% of strikeouts, earning 48.1% of ground balls, and limiting line drives to about 20% in the last 30 days. Those are all great numbers for the veteran righty.
However, righties are hitting a .361 wOBA against Gray in the last 30 days. He'll have to watch out for Mookie Betts, Trea Turner, Will Smith, and Justin Turner. However, the rest of the lineup will be left-handed and he's pitched well against lefties in the last 30 days.
Ultimately, Pepiot won't be facing many threats in the Twins lineup. On the other hand, Gray gets to face more lefties than righties, and analytically, he's better against lefties.
I'm looking at the under in this game after those two teams combined for 13 runs last night.
