MLB Parlay Picks for Thursday: Cash In With This Expert's +553 Parlay

Due to popular demand, we're adding an article at Oddschecker that consists of two parlays. I'm going to add two different parlays, one being a moneyline parlay and the other being a totals parlay in the MLB daily. You can always mix and match these parlays where you see the value! MLB Parlay Picks (+406) (Bet $100 to win $406)

  • Astros -1.5 (-135)
  • Diamondbacks (-180)
  • Reds (-115)

The Astros will be sending out Framber Valdez for tonight's game against the Rangers. Valdez has been one of the most consistent pitchers in baseball this year, putting together countless quality starts for the club. Meanwhile, Cole Ragans will start for the Rangers and he's allowed more walks than strikeouts through his last 22 batters faced. Take the Astros to win big.

Merrill Kelly has an ERA below 3 and his analytics have been just as good in the last 30 days. Meanwhile, the Pirates have just one batter hitting a wOBA of above .350 against righties in that same time frame. On the other hand, J.T. Brubaker will pitch for the Pirates. He's been better than advertised, however, the Diamondbacks clearly have the better lineup and should string together a couple of runs to get the win.

The Reds will send Nick Lodolo to the mound for the Field of Dreams game. Lodolo has a high strikeout rate that allows him to wiggle out of jams. Drew Smyly, on the other hand, doesn't. He'll pitch for the Cubs. The Reds have more potential with their lineup, knowing that five guys are hitting an above-average wOBA against lefties in the Reds lineup. I'll back the Reds here.

MLB Total Runs Parlay Picks (+553) (Bet $100 to win $553)

  • White Sox vs. Royals Under 8 (-115)
  • Cardinals vs. Rockies Over 12 (-115)
  • Pirates vs. Diamondbacks Under 8 (-115)

Dylan Cease is pitching gem after gem for the White Sox. He's struck out 28% of batters in the last 30 days and will take on a Royals team that has struck out nearly 24% of the time. Plus, the Royals rarely walk against righties. On the other hand, the White Sox will send mostly righties up to the plate against Greinke. The only problem is, that Greinke is better against righties than lefties. Take the under.

The Cardinals have an ISO of .228 with a wOBA of .339 against righties in the last 30 days. German Marquez will be on the mound for the Rockies with a 4.31 xFIP. He's also earned just 16.7% of strikeouts in the last 30 days. On the other hand, Dakota Hudson has been miserable with a 6.38 xFIP in the last 30 days for the Cardinals. The Rockies have a high wOBA of .361 and should get plenty of runners on base in this one. I'm on the over.

As I said above, I'm liking Merrill Kelly and what he'll bring to the table against the Pirates. He's got an ERA below 3 and has an above-average xFIP in the last 30 days. On the other hand, J.T. Brubaker has a low xFIP in the last 30 days and has been better than his record and ERA are advertising. The Diamondbacks still have the better lineup and should score more runs than the Pirates. However, I still like this game to go under the total.
