MLB Picks Today: A +158 Parlay for Friday, August 12
Last night’s Field of Dreams between the Chicago Cubs and game left a lot to be desired. Thankfully, we’ve got a 14-game slate, giving us plenty of spots to choose from on this hit parlay.
We’ve got one familiar face to the hit parlays tonight lately but found some other spots to pair him with, bringing us to +158 odds for each to get a hit.
Friday Hit Parlay: +158 (Bet $100 to Win $158)
Vlad Guerrero Jr. (TOR) to get a hit (-260)
Another night, another solid matchup for Vlad. This guy has been as reliable as they come, and he’s got another solid matchup tonight. Guerrero is 0-for-3 off Cal Quantrill, but there’s more to the matchup than three at-bats. Quantrill allows right-handed batters to hit .283 off him, while Vlad bats .288 of right-handed pitchers. Vlad also happens to be riding a 21-game hit streak and has a hit in 75% of the games this season. If it ain’t broke…
Luis Robert (CWS) to get a hit (-270)
Robert gets a lefty tonight in Daniel Norris, which usually means good things him. He bats .400 off left-handed pitchers (as opposed to .273 off RHP) and Norris is green. Robert has at least one hit in 8 of his last 10 games, and I like the matchup tonight.
Steven Kwan (CLE) to get a hit (-260)
Kwan has been a revelation for the Guardians, and now has at least one hit in 9 of his last 10 games and 90% of his last 30 games. Kwan has faced Jose Berrios before and is 1-for-2 off the Blue Jays pitcher (surprisingly it was one of his 3 home runs on the season with one of the others coming last night). Kwan bats .303 off right-handed pitchers, and Berrios allows lefties to bat .282 off him. Let’s hope the rookie keeps it rolling tonight.
