San Francisco Giants vs. Pittsburgh Pirates Prediction
1u - Carlos Rodon To Record A Win (-125) (Bet $125 to win $100)
This guy is a wagon, I will continue to ride the Rodon train until the wheels fall off. We don’t tail him every start but when we have he has always done his job. Tonight he gets the Pirates on the latest game of the slate, I am prepared to be watching this game finish up at 1 AM tonight. Rodon has already dismantled this Pittsburgh team and he should do it again. In his lone game against them this year he threw 8 complete innings and allowed just 2 hits and no runs. It doesn’t take a baseball savant to realize how incredible that is.
Rodon has very noticeable home-and-away splits. At home, he has an astounding 1.76 ERA over the course of 9 starts, and on the road, he has a much less impressive 3.72 over 13 starts. Luckily for us, this game is at Oracle Park so we should be in good hands. Rodon is dominant at home and arguably has his best start of the year against this same Pittsburgh team. The Pirates hit lefties at a .219 clip and they get one of the best southpaws in the league, tough day to be a Pirates fan today.
In order for Rodon to get the recorded win, we need him to leave with the lead and that lead is not to be relinquished. For that to happen we need runs! I am far from a fan of the Giants bats but they have to do some damage against Bryse Wilson. This guy has nearly a 6 ERA over 12 starts and never strings together back-to-back good games. In his last game, he pitched well so now he’s due a stinker. That could be the “law of averages” mindset talking but he should be good to allow at least 2 runs which should be good for the ace tonight. Pittsburgh's bullpen is the 4th worst in baseball so if Rodon qualifies for the win I feel like we’re safe.
