The San Francisco Giants escaped Pittsburgh with a 5-3 victory. We called it. If you tailed yesterday's article, you won, with the Giants -1.5 coming through. The Giants are currently two games away from getting back to .500. With a win tonight and another win tomorrow, the Giants would be back at .500. San Francisco Giants vs. Pittsburgh Pirates Prediction

The Giants will send out Logan Webb for tonight's contest. Webb is 10-5 with a 3.17 ERA on the season. He's pitched well for the Giants this year and has been just as consistent in the last 30 days.

Webb has a 4.16 xFIP in the last 30 days, however, his strikeout rate and walk rate have been getting worse throughout the season. Currently, Webb has struck out just 15% of batters in the last 30 days while walking 8.7% of batters in that same time frame. Still, the right-hander has been able to induce plenty of ground balls in the last 30 days, which has kept him out of trouble.

Webb has also kept wOBA and ISO numbers down against both sides of the plate. Now he's facing a Pirates lineup that has a .092 ISO and wOBA of .273 against righties in the last 30 days. There's not too much to like about this Pirates lineup other than ONeil Cruz and his potential power.

The Pirates have also struck out over 24% of the time against righties and have hit under 20% of line drives. Things aren't looking too bright offensively.

Meanwhile, Tyler Beede will get the call for the Pirates. The former Giants pitcher is going to want to pitch well against his former team. He has a 4.65 xFIP in the last 30 days with low strikeouts and high walks. However, like Webb, he's capable of earning a high amount of ground balls and has limited hard contact.

Beede has been worse against righties, despite being a righty. Righties are hitting a .398 wOBA and ISO of .238 against him in the last 30 days. However, lefties have a .239 wOBA and ISO of .000 against him. The Giants figure to send out seven lefties in their lineup and have hit a.131 ISO and wOBA of .288 against righties in the last 30 days with their projected lineup.

With that said, Beede should put together a quality outing for the Pirates going up against all of these lefties who are underperforming. Let's take the under in this game between the Giants and Pirates.
