We’re revising an old friend who we’ve left in the dust for some time. Josh Gayle is here with a play between the San Diego Padres and Washington Nationals.
ANALYSIS

San Diego Padres vs Washington Nationals Prediction: Can Juan Soto, San Diego Bounce Back Against Washington?

I will start off by saying this, every time I post these I acknowledge that Caesars will have better odds but they are sneaky and their definition of a Double Result bet is 4 innings and moneyline instead of 5. If you are placing this bet on DraftKings then you will go over to “Game Parlays” and then click “Padres/Padres” after selecting the “1st 5/Moneyline” tab. We need the Padres to have a lead after 5 innings and then win the game outright. This bet is very similar to our pitcher to record win bets but the starter doesn’t have to go 5+ innings and we could afford to lose the lead late in the game if we reclaim it.

Padres vs. Nationals Line Movement

San Diego Padres vs. Washington Nationals Prediction

Let's get into why I like this one, San Diego is a significantly better team. Padres lost yesterday and I just can’t envision this Nationals team doing anything well two games straight. On the mound for the Nationals is Paolo Espino who is a great fade. The last time Paolo pitched against the Padres he allowed 3 runs and only could record 7 total outs. This hasn’t been far off some of his starts this year against premier talent. San Diego has scored 33 runs in their last 4 games so their offense is humming right now and should bounce back from yesterdays weird outcome.

Blake Snell is on the mound for the Padres and he has been sneaky good. Snell has allowed 1 run or less in 6 of his last 7 starts and the only miss against a Rockies team who crushes lefties in Coors Field (the most hitter-friendly park). Snell should continue his hot streak against an uninspiring Nationals offense and if the offense can do their job this bet could hit without a sweat. Game starts very soon so we’ll wrap it up here early, get this in ASAP!
