Atlanta Braves vs New York Mets Prediction

The Mets dominated the series the last time these teams met, taking four of five in Queens. The Braves now hold the home field advantage and will look to flip the script on the Mets today. These teams both appear that they will be playoff teams. The only question is who comes via the wildcard and who comes via the NL East. It appears it will be the Mets representing the division barring a massive breakdown. The Mets enter play tonight with a lead of five and a half games over the Braves.

Atlanta knows a thing or two about getting hot at the right time, as this time last year, they were down in the division. Not only did they come back to win the NL East, but they went on to win the World Series. This is a team that will not panic due to their experience.

The Mets have had one of their best seasons in the past decade. The combo of deGrom and Scherzer at the top of their rotation is about as lethal as any the sport has ever seen. The Mets lineup has been very good this season and put in positions to win most games. The ultimate question becomes will the Mets choke or come through this season? Only time will tell that tale. 

I am backing the reigning world champions tonight on the money line. I love Spencer Strider and the stuff he brings to the mound. He not only has a great mustache but has some great stuff that should be able to limit these Mets hitters tonight.

Atlanta was embarrassed the last series against the Mets, so they will have a sour taste in their mouth coming into tonight. The vibes should be good for them at home in front of their crowd playing with a chip on their shoulder. This is a championship team, so these moments are clearly not too big for them.

Carlos Carrasco has had a very good season, but I feel he is more hittable on the road and that the Braves should get to him tonight.
