New York Yankees vs Tampa Bay Rays Pick
1u - Gerrit Cole To Record A Win (-115) (Bet $115 to win $100)
*Odds available at DraftKings at time of publishing*
Gerrit Cole is about as hard to predict as it comes, you would think we would stop betting him because of that but against the Rays is a different story. Cole will look like the best pitcher in the world one day and then magically a Freaky Friday moment will happen and he turns into a right-handed Patrick Corbin, it’s wild. But it’s so strange, against the Rays he consistently pitched electric outings each time against them. He has faced Tampa Bay three times this season and holds a 0.93 ERA only allowing two runs in 19.1 innings pitched.
New York Yankees vs Tampa Bay Rays Prediction
Haters will mention how even though he has dominated Tampa he only has one recorded win against them throughout the three games. One of those non-win starts was against Shane McClanahan where the Yankees offense couldn’t get going and the other was against Corey Kluber who left a time machine from eight years ago. Tampa is having a bullpen day and although some will come out and pitch great it just takes one guy to come out on the mound and get overwhelmed by the bright lights of New York and throw a meatball or two to Judge or Rizzo.
Yankees enter this game as -250 favorites and are due a win with their recent slump, this feels like it. The curse of Joey Gallo shall be lifted tonight behind a dominant performance by their “ace” in Gerrit Cole. If you don’t have the market then take the first 5 Innings/Moneyline alternative I always recommend for this market. The Yankees bullpen is the second best in the MLB in terms of ERA so if Cole leaves with a lead I have faith they don’t ruin his projected win! Let's bounce back Yankees!
