Chicago White Sox vs. Houston Astros Prediction
The Houston Astros and the Chicago White Sox will meet up from the south side of Chicago tonight. The White Sox stormed back for a huge win last night after trailing 2-0 going into the bottom of the eighth inning. The Sox have now won four games in a row and will look to make that five tonight, and they have the right guy to do it.
Dylan Cease will toe the rubber for the Sox, looking to continue his stellar performance. Cease is having a Cy Young-caliber season and is on one of the best stretches in MLB history when it comes to earned runs allowed. Cease has allowed one run or less in every start since May 24th. It is almost September. That is how dominant Cease has been and why he will have a good chance to walk away with the American League Cy Young Award.
The man opposing him tonight is the current favorite. Justin Verlander gets the ball for Dusty Baker and the Astors tonight. Verlander seems to get better as his career continues and is doing some crazy stuff at age thirty-nine. He enters play with an ERA of just 1.85 on the season. If you love pitching, this could be the matchup of the year. These are also two very good offenses, so things will not be easy for these two studs.
I am going with a prop tonight and a prop that we have been red hot on as of late. Dylan Cease over 17.5 outs. I can not believe that we are getting this number, and despite it being a little juicy at -159, I am all over this. There can be value in these bets when you have this line around -200, and now we can get a number this good.
Cease has been out of this world this season and has been the best pitcher in baseball, in my eyes. He is facing one of the best lineups in baseball, I understand that, but this is a guy who has not allowed more than one earned run since May 24th. There is no one who has pitched better in that stretch. He has gone over this number in four straight starts and should get there again today.
Chicago White Sox vs. Houston Astros Pick
- Dylan Cease Over 17.5 Outs (-159) (Bet $159 to win $100)
