Atlanta Braves vs. New York Mets Prediction
Both teams swung the bats well as the Mets scored nine runs compared to Atlanta's seven. These are two of the best offenses in baseball, and they showed why last night. These two teams should both be post-season teams. It is more of a matter of who is going to win the division.
The Mets have a solid lead right now, but they know how hot this Atlanta team can get. The other factor is pressure will not get to a team like Atlanta, who just won a World Series a season ago. This has been a fun series to watch so far, and we should see another great game tonight. If you are a fan of pitching, this is a dream game on paper.
The Mets will send their ace to the mound when they give the ball to Jacob deGrom. deGrom has been untouchable since returning from the injured list. He enters play tonight with a record of 2-0 and an ERA of just 1.62. Opposing deGrom will be the Braves ace, Max Fried. The southpaw has been tough for teams to figure out this season, coming into this game with a record of 10-2 and an ERA of just 2.60.
This will be just my second time all season placing a no-run in the first inning bet, but tonight I will send it. We are 1-0 on these, by the way, so we are technically putting an undefeated record on the line. These are two of the best arms in baseball, and while these are great lineups as well, I favor pitching here. Fried should be able to get thru the Mets in the top half, and if it comes down to deGrom getting three outs, I like my chances. I genuinely believe deGrom is the best arm this game has ever seen. This is one I will not overthink and trust that these two great pitchers can get us six outs.
