Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Miami Marlins Prediction, Picks, Odds: Can Jesus Luzardo Quiet Dodgers Offense?
The Los Angeles Dodgers will start a home series against the Miami Marlins tonight. The Dodgers have 81 wins on the year while the Marlins only have 52.
But in baseball, even the worst teams can win a couple of games on the road against the best teams. There's no guarantee that the Dodgers will win despite being the better, consistent ball club.

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Miami Marlins Prediction
The Miami Marlins have struggled offensively in the last month. They've had more games scoring under three runs than any team in baseball during that time frame. So that's a bit disappointing.
Tyler Anderson will get the call for the Dodgers. He's a lefty with a 13-2 record and has an ERA of 2.81 on the season.
However, Anderson really hasn't been all that analytically in the last 30 days. He has a 5.39 xFIPP with 16.4% of strikeouts. However, he's dodged damage bad not allowing extra-base hits, and has also kept hard contact down.
The Marlins, meanwhile, have a .150 ISO and wOBA of .260 against lefties in the last 30 days. Only Jesus Aguilar and Nick Fortes have been consistent offensively against righties. However, I should point out that the Marlins have hit 26.1% of ground balls and 31.6% of line drives against lefties in the last 30 days. Miami has serious potential, however, they've struck out 32.1% of the time against lefties in the last month with this lineup.

On the other hand, Jesus Luzardo will get the call for the Marlins. He's another lefty with a 3-5 record along with a 3.72 ERA.
In the last 30 days, Luzardo has had a 3.14 xFIP with 25.8% of strikeouts. He's also walked just 4.5% of batters in the last 30 days with a high amount of grounders earned.
The Dodgers also haven't been that exciting against lefties. Mookie Betts and Trea Turner have shown off some power against lefties but other than that, it's been quiet for the Dodgers against lefties.
The Dodgers have still hit 23.1% of line drives, but like the Marlins, have also struck out 28.9% of the time against lefties in the last 30 days with their projected lineup.
I like the Marlins to stick around in this game. Analytically, Miami's got the better pitcher and if the Marlins have a better chance of putting the ball in play, Miami has value.
Take the Marlins at +1.5 at +100. We're getting even money while adding a run to the score.
Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Miami Marlins Pick
