San Diego Padres vs Washington Nationals Prediction

Last night I saw plenty of people get burned by the Padres. I think the Nationals have been over achieving against the Padres splitting their last 4 games and tonight is when San Diego says enough is enough and puts them into their place. The Nationals have a 40-80 record, twice as many losses as wins. That’s why Juan Soto and Josh Bell we be playing for the other team tonight. The Padres are favored by a -365 line, one of the largest I’ve seen all year. It is Blake Snell's time to shine.

Blake Snell isn’t a guy we back often but when we do he has respected our cash. Snell is in a prime position to absolutely deal tonight. He pitched against the Nationals in his last start and didn’t allow a single run and just 3 hits. That electric outing was on the road too where Snell struggles more, tonight will be at home where he statistically better at. Snell never goes too deep into games but we just need 5 innings from him. He has gone 5+ innings in 8 of his last 9 games and this should be no different, the Nationals are the team to target in the MLB.

On the mound for Washington is Paolo Espino again, we always fade this guy and it works. Paolo allowed 4 earned runs in his last start against San Diego and if he replicates that performance we should be in line for a sweat free winner. Espino has been slightly better in night games but he faces a talented Padres team who should be embarrassed after last night. Last time we took San Diego it was right after a dud and their offense came alive, lets hope for similar results. The Nationals have the 7th worst bullpen and the Padres have the 10th best, if Snell goes 5 innings or more and leaves with the lead we are in great position to win this one. Let's roll!
