Jock MKT Pick of the Day: Don’t Sleep on This Jock MKT Investment From the Pirates

I'm going back on the Jock MKT today people and it's going to be glorious. It's legit the perfect way to add to a Saturday of debauchery. It just is. If you haven't been on or downloaded Jock MKT yet, you may want to hurry up and give it a try because football season is coming and you know you're going to want to play when that happens. If you start now, you'll at least have some idea of what to do in these games. It's not like it's the hardest thing in the world but why not get a little experience? And right now they have games with cash payouts that are free to enter. There is literally no reason to NOT enter a contest today and see what's what. We're talking free here people. Plus I have a guy that's probably going to throttle this entire slate. Feels right.

Jock MKT Pick of the Day - Saturday (8/20/22)

Bryan Reynolds (CF) - Pittsburgh Pirates

Alright, so I only play the tournament-style game. If you don't know what that means, just click on the little trophy icon above the contest button in the lobby. Simple stuff. You'll see only tournaments when you do this so you won't accidentally enter a market contest. I still don't understand what's going on with the market games but at some point, I'll try it out to see what that's all about. For now, we'll just worry about tournaments. They're easy to understand since everyone starts with $250 and the goal is to have the most cash at the end of the day. So easy.

The IPO phase of today's tournament today starts at 9:05 am ET. Today I'm going to do things a little differently. I'm not going to bid at all in the early going. I'm just going to wait until the very last second to snag all the shares of Bryan Reynolds that I can. Every time I've played, I've always been outbid so it's time to change up my style. I'm not sure if putting all of my eggs in one basket is the way to do things but that's what I'm doing. It doesn't feel that dumb especially if the guy goes off. Then you have a ton of shares of a guy that makes money. Good enough for me.

The big question is why Bryan Reynolds and I get it. First off, I doubt he's going to draw a ton of attention since he's Bryan Reynolds and he plays for the Pirates. But don't fall for the weak facade. This guy is a stone-cold killer and some of his teammates are too. Over the last week, this team has scored more runs than half the league. That's not bad. It's partly due to the fact that no-hitter in MLB has a better OPS over the last seven days than Reynolds. The guy is smoking the baseball right now and it's going everywhere. We're talking four dingers and 11 RBI here people. He's not just a dink and duck guy these days.

You want to stack the deck a little when you take a Pittsburgh Pirate and the way you do it is by taking them on a day they are facing Justin Dunn. I'm sure Dunn is a nice guy but one thing he can't do is pitch. He's started twice in August and has yet to see the fifth inning. His runs allowed looks like a full game's work though as he's allowed eight runs in those two starts. He's pretty much at a run an inning which isn't great. Only one Pirate has had an at-bat against him so we don't know how they will hold up but I bet they'll do fine. He seems like a guy that everyone hits. This feels like stealing.

Jock MKT Contests

The Contest Format is the 'Tournament format'. You will buy in to your chosen contest for a set entry fee, and every user receives the same amount to start. At the end of the contest, users are ranked by their number of 'chips' they have remaining, and are paid out accordingly.

Jock MKT breaks down play into phases, the initial IPO phase and Live Trading.

During the initial IPO stage, you are looking to put your a big in on your desired player/racer's shares, and this price will be determined by the highest pre-event bid.

A good example of this would be buying low on a golfer at the start of the week, as he is considered a longshot, but you believe he can challenge or outperform his share price. If there is a lot of chatter about said golfer online, then his stock will naturally rise, so the price will be dependent on expectations from the off.

When it comes to Live Trading, you are instead buying or selling the player/racer in real-time. Again using Golf as an example, you may have bought a player at low shares at the start of the week, and said golfer now finds themselves in the mix at the top of the leaderboard. This might be where you would look to sell your shares, as you are worried they might not close, or the price is simply at a number you are comfortable getting out of. This behaves in the same way the stock market would.

The final shares are determined by the total fantasy points and rankings at the end of the game/event.

If your current shares are now worth more than what you paid, you are in the money, and you end the week in positive equity on that selection. If the shares are worth less, then you lose on that selection, and the difference is forfeited. It really is as simple as that.

So why not give Jock MKT a go today, and find out how buying and selling your favorite athletes rewards you in the long run?
