The Toronto Blue Jays vs. the New York Yankees will battle it out from the Bronx on Saturday afternoon for game three of this four-game AL East affair. The Jays have taken the first two games of the series, which has shrunk the Yankee's lead in the division down to eight games. New York Yankees vs. Toronto Blue Jays Prediction

New York has the third worst record since mid-July and cannot figure out how to win games at the moment. Some of that may have to do with injuries to key bats Giancarlo Stanton, Matt Carpenter, and DJ LeMahiue, while some of it might be that this team was just overperforming early in the year. The bottom line is that the Yankees need to figure out things sooner than later as we approach the month of September.

The Jays have had an up and down season but find themselves in a playoff position via the wildcard. This is an extremely talented team and a top-five offense in baseball when right. Their pitching has been much better this season than some expected, getting huge contributions from Kevin Gausman and Alek Manoah. This is a team that very few will want to see come playoffs. Today we will see the Yankees ace in action as former CY Young award winner Gerritt Cole gets the call. Cole will look to get the Yankees a much-needed win. Opposition Cole will be Mitch White, who toes the rubber for the Jays. 

I am backing the Yankees on the -1 line today. I get it they are a scary team to back at the moment, but they are more than due. This is still one of the most talented rosters in baseball, and they should be playing desperate baseball today. Cole is on the mound who should be able to control this game and put the Yankees in a good position to come out with a much-needed victory. Mitch White has been solid, but the Yankees should be able to get a few runs off of him and get to this Jays pen. If they can score four or five runs today, I feel great about a -1 cover behind the arm of Cole. Let’s stay hot!
