The Cubs have surprisingly taken the first two games of this series and will be going for a sweep today. The Brewers desperately need to win this game as they are all of a sudden five games out of first place in the Central. Their best bet has quickly become a wildcard spot, but they are still in a tough spot in the wildcard.

This is one of the best starting pitching staffs in baseball when healthy, but their bats have let them down this year. This year they have either been great on offense or they can not score any runs at all. They blew a couple of saves yesterday when the Cubs walked them off in extra innings.

Today we will see one of the best starters in the national league toe the rubber for the Brewers. Brandon Woodruff will get the call for Craig Counsel. The Brewers will need a great outing from the veteran to stop the bleeding and salvage the series. The Cubs will send southpaw Justin Steele to the mound, who has turned in a good season for them this season and will look to lead them to a sweep. 

I am backing the Brewers on the money line this afternoon. I would be shocked if they got swept by the Cubs, a team that they are much better than in this pivotal series. They hold a decent-sized advantage when it comes to pitching today with Woodruff on the mound, and I give them the advantage if it turns into a bullpen game.
