ANALYSIS

MLB Prop Picks: Three Best Bets for Monday (8/22)

There are a few MLB slate spots tonight on player props that caught my eye from the new player model. It's a new week, and there's plenty of money to be made on baseball. Without wasting any time, let's hop into the props.

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Milwaukee Brewers Player Prop Bets

Trea Turner has been having quite the year. He leads the Dodgers in RBIs with 83 and has been a consistent bat you can rely on in the lineup. All this and more is true when he is facing a lefty. Turner's splits blow up when he is facing a southpaw. His OPS rises from .794 against righties to .948 against lefties. Turner has nine home runs in 126 at-bats against lefties and also nine against righties in 362 at-bats. Turner has also seen Eric Lauer before, and he has had success against him. In 12 at-bats off Lauer, Turner is 5-12 with a double and two home runs.

Trea Turner will also have help from mother nature tonight. It will be a beautiful night in Dodger Stadium, and the wind will be blowing out at about 10 mph at game time. Putting all this together, Turner should have some hard-hit balls off Lauer tonight, and given the weather, one could get out. He is tied for the lead with Max Muncy in home runs off Eric Lauer. Take him to get another tonight.

Phillies vs. Reds Start Time, Where to Watch, and Odds

Philadelphia Phillies vs. Cincinnati Reds Player Prop Bets

The Phillies kick off their series with the Reds tonight, a team that is 17th in runs allowed per nine innings. The Reds will go with a bullpen game tonight and will open with Luis Cessa. Even though Rhys Hoskins will most likely only get one at-bat against Cessa, that may be all he needs. Hoskins is 2-4 with a home run off Cessa, and Hoskins has been hot. When Hoskins is hitting in Citizens Bank Park is when he's at his best. He is hitting .256 at home with a .892 OPS.

When Hoskins is hitting at home, he's getting extra bases more often than not. In 56 hits at home, Hoskins has 31 extra-base hits, including 15 home runs. Hoskins will also have the advantage of mother nature tonight. It's a hot, humid night in Philly, and the wind is also blowing out to center field. Hoskins has a home run already off Cessa in only four at-bats, and he is hitting for extra bases at a 55% clip on his hits at home. The balls will be flying in Citizens Bank Park tonight, so take Hoskins to hit over 1.5 bases and a sprinkle on the home run prop.
