Betting NRSIs are so fun. You avoid the 1-3 guys everytime and usually get a softer batch of hitters. If teams hit well in the opening inning you will get the end of teams orders of guys usually hitting the high .100’s or low .200’s which is great. These two teams have offenses that intimidate absolutely nobody. The Tigers offense is the worst in MLB in runs scored per game and the Giants scored all of their runs two nights ago and shouldn’t replicate that performance.
The pitching matchup here is Carlos Rodon versus Drew Hutchison. Carlos Rodon is the main reason we love this bet. Detroit has flipped the switch and has been brutal lately against left-handed pitching and his lone outing this year against Detroit he went 6 innings and only allowed 1 run. He now gets to pitch at Comerica Park which should bode better for him. The Tigers should have no business scoring 7+ runs on Rodon and the Giants even with that shaky bullpen.
Hutchison has started 10 games and has only allowed a 2nd inning run in one of them. A 90% hit rate for his 3 outs seems shockingly great. I think Hutchinson could be hit in the 1st a bit and be facing the 6-9 batters in the 2nd inning as well. We just need 6 outs in the 2nd inning and Detroit not to score 7+ runs. This shouldn’t be too crazy. Both of these offense have let me down on multiple occasions, this is why they owe us these six outs and if they wanna suck then at least allow us to profit off of it. I will be in attendance at Comerica to cheer this one on. I hope in the 3rd inning I’m walking to the drink line to celebrate the likely winner!
