Milwaukee Brewers vs. Chicago Cubs Prediction

The Chicago Cubs and the Milwaukee Brewers will clash from American Family Field on Friday night for an NL Central affair. The Cubs are fresh off a loss yesterday afternoon to the Cardinals, while the Brewers had an off day. The Cubs have not had a great year, and they will have an early vacation this season as they know the postseason is out of the picture. The best thing that this Cubbies team can do now is to play spoiler, and they would love to do that against their rivals tonight.

The Brewers have had an odd year as they led the NL Central for most of the season but now sit in a rather large hole. The Brewers enter this game today, sitting six games behind the Cardinals in the Central. It would take an epic collapse from St Louis not to win that division. It appears now the Brewers best chance to make the playoffs comes via the Wild Card. The Brewers sit 1.5 games behind the Padres for that final Wild Card spot. The bottom line is that this team has a lot to play for the next five weeks or so, but they will need to win series like this.

Tonight the Brewers hand the ball to Freddy Peralta. Peralta has not had his best stuff on display this season but when right, he is one of the best arms in baseball. Opposing Peralta will be southpaw Justin Steele. 

I am all over the Brewers tonight. This line is undervalued in my mind as this has to be a series that the Brewers win. This is the time of the year when they need to lock in and play their best baseball. The Cubs have a lot less motivation in this spot than the Brewers do. Milwaukee is also the much more talented team and has a big-time pitching advantage tonight. I expect Peralta to handle this Cubs lineup with ease tonight and the offense to get things going against Steele. This line is off, and we will take advantage tonight!
