New York Mets vs Los Angeles Dodgers Prediction
The Mets were the victors of a close 2-1 ball game last night that was decided by just one long ball. Jacob deGrom shoved for seven innings and was able to do just enough to silence the beast last night. Chris Bassitt has the ball for the Mets tonight.
Chris Bassitt is not Jacob deGrom.
Do not get me wrong he is not awful but I am not sold on him and never really have been. He is having a good season no doubt but is susceptible to being knocked around and the Dodgers are without question the team with the best chance to do it on any given night.
The Dodgers are scoring at an absurd rate this season and sporting a +279-run differential, nearly 90 runs ahead of the trailing New York Yankees. The run differential is actually higher for them on the road than it is at home and by a decent margin too. They love to score and can do It at any time and after being suppressed the last two nights they are due for some noise.
This team is 90-39 on the season and they did not get there by losing the series’; they dropped the last series when they met in Los Angeles so I am sure that is fresh on their minds still. Clayton Kershaw returns tonight from the IL and should be limited somewhat but I assume he is ready to go through the lineup 2-3 times if he works efficiently like he has time and time again in his career.
The current Mets lineup is slashing just .195/.241/.307 for a .548 OPS on 82 ABs.
