San Francisco Giants vs. Philadelphia Phillies Odds, Picks, Prediction: Can Kyle Gibson Quiet Giants Bats?
Sometimes in life you just get lucky. It happens to everyone. All you have to do is be paying attention and you'll notice the times when stuff just works out for you. It's science. Well, no matter what lucky breaks we've gotten up until this point, we're getting one today that is luckier. By far. I don't care if you've won the lotto before, this one is luckier. Maybe not but it's up there. I don't know if someone at DraftKings is trying to get back at their bosses or shareholders, but they've released the worst line I've ever seen. By far. Not even close.
It would be like making a Pop Warner team 20-point favorites against the Los Angeles Rams. We're talking bad here people. Real bad. Lucky for us, all we have to do is log in and take advantage of this mess. We're pretty lucky right now. Click here for my prediction, pick, and odds for the Giants vs. Phillies.

Kyle Gibson Over 3.5 Strikeouts (-115) - DraftKings (Bet $115 to win $100)
We're at DraftKings for this one since they have the 3.5 at such a reasonable price. The reason I say that is because FanDuel has 4.5 (+128) which is nice and probably worth it but the 3.5 is insane. Obviously, ladder opportunities at FanDuel and the 7+ (+630) are pretty attractive. The best part about this one is it starts at 10:15 pm ET. If things go south, we can just go to bed. Plus we'll wake up to football. Again, look at us just living the dream.
I'm not going to sit here and pretend we don't know Kyle Gibson. He's a damn legend on these streets. I can't even count how many times his name has been written in the Circle of Trust. There just aren't many guys that can stay under the one strikeout per inning pitched benchmark, but can also sit down 10+ guys in a single game. That's just remarkable and Gibson has done it twice this season.
In five starts in August, Gibson looked like Jekyll and Hyde out there. He went over this number in three of the five but in two of those starts, he went 9+. I get that he went under 40% of the time but that was against the New York Mets who don't strike out and the other time was against the Miami Marlins who weren't really striking out at the time. Totally not his fault. And it should be noted that he fanned four Washington Nationals in one of those starts which is a big deal and should be celebrated since only one team has struck out fewer times than they have this season.
Tonight Gibson won't have to worry about guys that don't strike out since he's playing the San Francisco Giants. Over the last week, only six teams in MLB have struck out more than they have. We're talking 51 whiffs in just 169 at-bats. That's terrible. Joe Musgrove just sat 11 of them down last night. These guys might as well go up to the plate wearing blindfolds. I'm not saying Kyle Gibson is going to set a record tonight, but I bet he gets at least four of these guys to take a seat. This is easily the greatest play of our lives. Lucky us.
