Baltimore Orioles vs Oakland Athletics Prediction, Pick, Odds: Can Adrian Martinez Shut Down the Orioles?
I'll tell you right now, there's not a better MLB gambling experience than taking a guy with an ERA north of five to strike people out. Not that I know of at least. It's actually beautiful. Is he going to get blown up and not make it out of the first inning? Who knows? Will he take 10 pitches to get everyone out so that he doesn't make it out of the third inning? Maybe. The thing is, these guys end up with a number like 3.5 so it's not like they have to be good to go over. We've seen some of the worst games ever pitched and the guys still got over 3.5. It happens all the time. For that reason, I always look at the 3.5 guys first. They're the real ones in my opinion. When it comes to entertainment value, they're very hard to beat. And when that entertainment coincides with us stuffing our pockets with cash, magic happens. Lucky for us, I found a guy today that fits this description. This could be the greatest bet of all time.

Baltimore Orioles vs Oakland Athletics Pick
Adrian Martinez Over 3.5 Strikeouts (+100) (Bet $100 to win $100)
*Odds available at BetMGM at time of publishing*
We're at BetMGM for this one because DraftKings is pretty woke on Mr. Martinez. They're out here charging -115 for this gem. Honestly, that's not even a bad deal. If you can't play there, you could always look at FanDuel because they have 3.5 (-104) which is pretty sweet. As you know, you could always ladder this guy over there too. I think 5+ (+230) and 6+ (+520) are clearly in play. Some of you psychopaths will even go 7+ (+1100) and I love you all for that. Get some!
Baltimore Orioles vs Oakland Athletics Prediction
Let me tell you what I know about this Adrian Martinez kid. Not much. I actually thought he was the quarterback from Nebraska that transferred to Kansas State. Update, he's not. Totally different guy but one thing he has in common with the other Adrian Martinez is he has a cannon for a right arm. That's all that really matters. I'm not going to say he's a strikeout guy since he's only got 25 in 29 innings of work this season but that also means he's not exactly NOT a strikeout guy either. It could go either way at this point.
Here's the thing we have going for us. The books are treating this kid like he's a kid and they don't realize he's a full-grown man at this point. He's been on and off the roster all season long but there hasn't been a start where he didn't at least sit three people down. In fact, there were two where he fanned five and six. Obviously, we need more than three here but my point is, that he will get us close (probably) so the entertainment value should be there. My guess is he's the kind of guy that just needs the right opposing lineup.
Today he gets the kind of lineup dreams are made of in the Baltimore Orioles. In the last week, these guys have struck out 44 times in just 161 at-bats. Over the last two weeks, we're talking 112 whiffs in 384 at-bats. I like to call that a pattern of behavior. By my count, we could see at least seven guys in the lineup today that have fanned at least 27.7% of the time over the last 15 days so this strikeout trend should continue. All this guy has to do is not piss himself today and he should get at least four strikeouts.
