The Royals' season has been over for quieted some time, and the best thing that they can do at this stage in the season is to play the role of spoiler. This is a team that blew up much of their roster at the deadline adding some young talent to the team. The positive of the poor season is it has allowed their young players to come up and play at the major league level. The Royals have some excellent young players that will be a pivotal part of this team moving forward.

The Guardians have shocked the league with their great season, but they come into this contest ice cold as of late. The Guardian's lead in the AL Central is now just 0.5 games over the Twins and two games over the White Sox. Things are starting to heat up, and maybe Cleveland has felt the pressure as of late. Things will not get any easier tonight when they face Brady Singer.

Singer has been a huge positive in a negative Royals season. He looks like an arm that will be a pivotal part of their future. Cleveland will look to figure him out tonight and put runs on the board. The Guardians will send right-hander Triston McKenzie to the bump. He has been outstanding for Cleveland this year and is a big part of why they are a first-place team. 

I am backing a bounce-back by the Guardians tonight. They are more than due, and they have one of their best arms on the mound who should be able to limit this Royals offense. I expect a lot more intensity in this game from Cleveland, knowing how important the game is. Kansas City will not play with that same drive.
