Los Angeles Dodgers vs. San Francisco Giants Prediction
Logan Webb will take the mound for the Giants. He's not one of the reasons why the Giants have struggled this year. The right-hander has an 11-8 record with a 2.89 ERA. In the last 30 days, Webb has had a 3.38 xFIP with 21.3% of strikeouts. He's also induced 65% of grounders while keeping line drives down to 19.4%. It's been extremely difficult for teams to hit extra-base hits against Webb, but if there's any team to do it, it would be the Dodgers. The Dodgers are hitting a .208 ISO against righties in the last 30 days. Six of the nine batters are hitting a .190 ISO or better against righties in the last month. Los Angeles also has a .340 wOBA in the last 30 days and has hit just 30.4% of grounders with their projected lineup in that same time frame. Bet $5, Get $100 on any MLB Moneyline today! Meanwhile, Andrew Heaney will get the call for the Dodgers. The left-hander has resurrected his career with Los Angeles. He's 2-1 with a 2.12 ERA on the season. He's not getting much run support when pitching, but he's been good. In the last 30 days, Heaney has had a 3.14 xFIP with 35.6% of strikeouts. He's also walked just 3% of batters while limiting line drives to 9.8%. He's getting a ton of strikeouts, keeping walks down, and not allowing hard line drives to be hit. Of course, you're going to have success doing that. The Giants, on the other hand, is hitting a .182 ISO with a wOBA of .375 against lefties. They've also hit 28% of line drives against lefties when balls are batted into play. But the Giants have to hit the ball before they can do anything. They've struck out over 23% of the time against lefties in the last 30 days and figure to see that number increase against Heaney tonight. I'm going to take the under-8 in this one. Webb has kept his ERA under three all season, while Heaney should be able to get a high strikeout rate.
