We've got some early action with Drew Rasmussen but honestly, what are we supposed to do when that game is over? Just go to bed? That's probably not an option since Drew will cover by 8:00pm ET. What I think that means is we should look ahead to the 10:10pm ET matchup between the San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Dodgers on MLB Network. For starters, it's televised. We can watch this whole thing go down. That's huge. Plus we need to get used to staying up late because the NFL is back on Thursday night. Nobody is going to bed before midnight on the east coast for a majority of the week moving forward. When you consider all of that, we have to bet this thing tonight. Our hands are tied.
Los Angeles Dodgers vs. San Francisco Giants Prediction
Tyler Anderson Over 4.5 (-130) (Bet $130 to win $100)
*Odds Available at DraftKings*
We're at DraftKings for this one because quite frankly, I don't think we're getting a line anywhere else. I've been waiting for hours for something at FanDuel and BetMGM but nothing has come. I'm starting to think these people are scared. What other reason would they half-step like this? They book bets, there is a game but no lines. Sounds scared to me. Luckily for us, DraftKings is not scared so we can just go there.
This is the guy I meant to bet on the last two times that I took Tyler Alexander. Obviously their names are very similar so I was confused. Classic mix up. It's fine now because I have verified that this is the one that won us all that coin back in June when he fanned eight Los Angels Angels in the battle of LA. That was a hell of a day and I think this one could end up a lot like that one. I know this guy only has 114 strikeouts in 147.2 innings of work this season but don't let him fool you. He can sit people down when he wants to.
The only time I use home/away splits is when it works in my favor and we have another one of those situations today. This one is perfect. This guy is just better at home. We're talking limiting opponents to a .562 OPS at home. We don't really care about that because we want strikeouts but he does that too. How about 57 in 69.2 innings pitched at home this season? In two of his last three starts at Dodger Stadium. One of those starts was against this same Giants team.
As far as striking out goes, the San Francisco Giants are doing a great job lately. Over the last 15 days, only three teams have struck out more than they have. It actually looks they striking out is what they're trying to do at times. We're talking 122 Ks in their last 400 at bats. That doesn't happen on accident. By my count, there are seven guys that could be in the lineup tonight that have fanned at least 30% of the time over the last two weeks. I don't know about you, but this is worth staying up for. It's almost too easy.
