San Diego Padres vs. Arizona Diamondbacks Prediction
The Arizona Diamondbacks battle the San Diego Padres taking place from the beautiful Petco Park on Tuesday night. Arizona took game one last behind a shutdown performance by Zac Gallen. Gallen has been dominant as of late and led the way for the snakes in game one. Blake Snell was solid for the Padres, but they were not able to give him any run support.
San Diego is currently tied with Philadelphia for the second Wild Card spot. The Padres have been one of the most hyped-up teams in baseball since they acquired Juan Soto and Josh Bell from the Nationals. They have not been nearly as good as most people thought, and they had to deal with some news when it was revealed that star shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. would be suspended for the rest of the season for using PEDS. Despite all the outside noise, the Padres are still in a prime spot to make the postseason, and they have a roster that is more than capable of making noise.
Manny Machado has had one of the best years of his career, and this is a deep starting rotation for the Pads. Tonight they will send one of their best arms to the bump in the form of Joe Musgrove. Musgrove has enjoyed an All-Star season but has not been as consistent as of late. He will be opposed by Merrill Kelly, a guy who has quietly had an outstanding year for Arizona.
I am taking the Padres on the moneyline tonight. We have to sip some juice here, but sometimes the juice is worth the squeeze, and that will be the case here. This is a massive game for San Diego, and after being shut out last night, I believe that they will be able to plate some runs in bounce-back fashion tonight. I also fully expect Joe Musgrove to go out and shove against Arizona tonight. Let’s stay hot and cash in!
