The Mariners host the White Sox again on Tuesday night and they will look to bounce back with Logan Gilbert on the mound. The White sox are making a strong push for the AL Central and a playoff spot. Jason Radowitz gives us his best MLB bet for Tuesday.

Seattle Mariners vs. Chicago White Sox Prediction, Picks, Odds: Will Logan Gilbert Add to His Strong Season?

The Chicago White Sox probably won't be making the playoffs this season. But after earning a win last night over the Seattle Mariners, they're one game closer. The Mariners are in the second Wild Card spot by five games. Meanwhile, the White Sox are 7.5 games out of the final wild-card spot and aren't winning the AL Central now.

The AL Central will be wild until the end of the season. If the White Sox want to make the postseason, they've got to step on the gas. Can the White Sox escape with another victory over Seattle? Here are our picks, predictions, and odds for Tuesday's game between the Chicago White Sox vs. Seattle Mariners.

Seattle Mariners vs. Chicago White Sox Prediction

The White Sox aren't out of the playoff race yet. It's not going to be easy to make the playoffs, but if Chicago puts together a massive winning streak to close out the season, they'll be in the mix.

Johnny Cueto will take the hill for the White ox. He's 7-6 with a 2.93 ERA on the season. However, in the last 30 days, Cueto has had a 5.03 xFIP with just 13.2% of strikeouts earned. He's also allowing over 21% of line drives. But, he's limited ISO and wOBA against both sides of the plate.

The Mariners haven't had much success against righties in the last 30 days. They've hit a .177 ISO with a wOBA of .303 in that time frame. Seattle usually gets on by walking, but Cueto has allowed just 3.7% of walks in the last 30 days. Only Cal Raleigh has hit a wOBA above .340 in this Seattle lineup over the last 30 days. That's not encouraging for a Seattle team fighting for a playoff spot.

On the other hand, Logan Gilbert will take the hill for the Mariners. The rookie right-hander has an 11-5 record with a 3.35 ERA. He's been a bit colder in the second half of the season. In the last 30 days, Gilbert has had a 5.25 xFIP with 18.6% of strikeouts. He's limited walks well, like Cueto, and has kept ISO power numbers down from both sides.

Gilbert will face a Chicago lineup with a .138 ISO and a wOBA of .317. The White Sox have also struck out over 20% of the time against righties in the last 30 days with their projected lineup. On top of that, only two players have walked 10% of the time against righties or better.

While Gilbert and Cueto haven't been on their A-game, there's still reason to believe that both starters can wiggle out of damage and earn quality starts in tonight's game. After all, both pitchers have an ERA of 3.35 or lower. I'll grab the under in this one.
