I love betting these. Six outs with a juice reducer has a history of paying off for us. This one seems simple. This game's total is only 6.5 and our juice reducer is the Cubs to not cover the over by themselves. This should just come down to a scoreless second inning which I feel very good about. These two teams have less than stellar offenses and struggle against the opposing starting pitcher.
Miami Marlins vs Chicago Cubs Prediction
On the mound for Miami is Jesus Luzardo. Luzardo isn’t great at home but he absolutely shoved against the Cubs in his one appearance vs them. He threw seven complete innings only allowing one hit and no runs. I don’t expect him to replicate that dominance but I don’t see the Cubs going from that incompetent to scoring 7+ runs against this guy and the Marlins bullpen. Luzardo has pitched a scoreless second inning in seven of his last eight starts.
On the mound for Chicago is Marcus Stroman. Stroman is a beast on the road with a 1.84 ERA over 12 starts. Stroman has not faced Miami this year but he has only allowed two RBIs in 35 at-bats to these Marlins bats all time. Stroman has thrown a shutout second inning in six of his last seven starts. In their last combined 15 starts, we have seen Stroman/Luzardo throw shutout second innings 13/15 times. This game's 6.5 total makes me feel like it will be extra low scoring which will bode well for both legs of our bet. Let's stay hot with these MLB NRSIs and let's roll!
