Wednesday night, the Angels host the Athletics in an AL West battle. Both teams have been eliminated from playoff contention but look to finish the season strong. Handicapper Jason Radowitz is here with his best MLB bet for Wednesday.

Los Angeles Angels vs. Oakland Athletics Prediction, Pick, Odds: Can Shohei Ohtani and the Angels Stay Hot?

We came up short yesterday. We grabbed the Angels -1.5, and they only won by one. I still have solid vibes with this Angels offense. The Angels have two of the best hitters in baseball and should be playing meaningful games in September. Instead, they're playing a game with no playoff implications against the worst team in the MLB, the Oakland Athletics.

The Angels have won two straight games and can make it three straight with a win tonight. Can the Angels keep the winning streak alive? Here are our picks, predictions, and odds for Wednesday's game between the Los Angeles Angels vs. Oakland Athletics.

Los Angeles Angels vs. Oakland Athletics Prediction

The Angels will send out Michael Lorenzen for tonight's game. The right-hander is 7-6 on the season but still has a 4.78 ERA. In the last 30 days, Lorenzen has had a 4.98 xFIP with 12.9% of walks. He's held teams to a BABIP of .167 but ultimately has allowed 23.1% of line drives and has induced just 41% of ground balls. Lorenzen has also allowed 48.7% of hard contact and is getting rocked by righties, allowing a .362 wOBA and ISO of .233. Even lefties have an ISO of .167.

Oakland is surprisingly hitting a .186 ISOS and wOBA of .342 against righties over the last 30 days. Tony Kemp, Seth Brown, Connor Capel, Jordan Diaz, Sean Murphy, and Stephen Vogt have recently hit for some power or are getting on base at an above-average rate. This lineup has also hit 23.5% of line drive against righties in the last 30 days.

Meanwhile, Adrian Martinez will take the mound for Oakland. He's got a 4-5 record with a 6.10 ERA on the season. In the last 30 days, Martinez has had an xFIP of 4.71 with 8.8% of walks. He's allowed 25.4% of line drives and is giving up nearly 40% of hard contact. Lefties have a .416 wOBA and ISO of .412 in the last 30 days, while righties are hitting a .426 wOBA with an ISO of .213.

The Angels are getting massive production out of Mike Trout, Shohei Ohtani, and Taylor Ward over the last 30 days. Expect that to continue against Martinez, who has struggled against both sides of the plate during the previous 30 days.

Therefore, I like the over in tonight's matchup. This is an Oakland team that bounced Jacob deGrom out of the game last week.
